Wash FM
*Wash FM *You can click
is a name of the FM radio station which broadcasts in Washington D.C. area. It is not that I'm washing something.
I often enjoyed listening it when I was in the U.S. I still remember the number of it. It's 97.1.
I could get many US songs from it. After I came back to Japan, I enjoyed it on web site for a while as well.
Sadly, it's not available on web site now in Japan.
Today, I'll show you one of my favorite song I got from Wash FM. This song is used as a movie song for "Remember the Titans"/タイタンズを忘れない I like this movie, too.
Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
Ain't no mountain high enough.
Ain't no valley low enough.
Ain't no river wide enough.
If you need me, call me
No matter where you are. No matter how far.
Just call my name. I'll be there in a hurry.
You don't have to worry.
I love this part especially. This song cheers me up when I feel down.
Capital Pride in Dupont Circle
Dupont Circle is a cosmopolitan neighborhood with some of Washington D.C.. It's located in northwest of Washington D.C. and it takes about 20 or 30 minutes from Rockville by Metrorail. (Using RED LINE. from Twinbrook to Dupont Circle. Twinbrook station was the nearest station from my place.)
We can see many foreign embassies as well as many ethnic restaurants, shops, and so on at there. There is a town vibrant with life.
Dupont Circle is also famous as a community of gays and lesbians.
Here's a system map of Metro; http://www.wmata.com/metrorail/systemmap.cfm
Capital Pride Parade

Capital Pride is a festival to celebrate Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals and Transgenders community pride. It is held in June every year.
Well,, How do I say,,, In my opinion, it kinds of almost taboo topic to come out it in public in Japan. How do you think?
However, they have a firm pride about theirselves. I could feel their majestic attitude.
Although it may against ethics to love or marry with the same sex each other, (I'm afraid.... only just looking or talking with them is okay.) I want to yell for them.

Get over homesickness
About 2 month passed. I got used to living in the U.S. gradually. However, I often had a feeling of homesickness deeply.
I hate to rag, but I was suffering from language barrier, besides I didn't have any friends yet. I didn't know how I should spend my time in the U.S., so I often spent time to play video game or surf internet whole day. I might have been like a geek...
One day, my neighborhood took me to a kind of meeting called "International Women's Group"(IWG) It was a group for women who has husband works at NIH(National Institutes of Health).
I met a Japanese lady who lived in same apartment and she was as same generation as me.
My favorite things were similar to hers, so we hit it off immediately.
She is very cheerful and funny. I like her very much.
I could get into the life in the U.S. completely at last, through the encounter with her. Thanks Miso-chan! I really appreciate you!
