A Hero came from America / ¥¿¥¤¥¬¡¼¥¹½õ¤Ã¿Í³°¿Í±ÑͺÎóÅÁ
I was surprised to know that a hero from America who used to play baseball at Japan's professional baseball team named Hanshin Tigers, became a Democratic State senator from Oklahoma. If you are a baseball fan, you'll be able to imagine easily who he is.
The hero is Randy Bass. He came to Japan in 1983, after played at Twins, Expos, Padres, Rangers, and so on. In 1985, he became a triple crown winner- it was the first time for foreign players in the Central league. He led Tigers to the victory that year after 21 years of the last champion.
The spectacular scene of 3 consecutive home runs by Bass, Kakefu, Okada, is very famous for us and I still remember it, although I was a child at that time. It is no exaggeration to say that he was the greatest Foreign Player in Hanshin Tigers.
It was the time that I could enjoy the Baseball most.
I loved the trio very much. It was the good old days.
But I little watched Japanese Baseball game on TV after Bass went back to USA.
I sometimes watch MLB on BS TV these days for study English.
It is more interesting to me than Japanese game.
I do not know why.
I guess that probably I am wanting to watch the super star like Bass. We need super star in Japan¡¢more!
See you! ¡Ê¡°¡ù¡°¡Ë/

I agree with you Taka-san. It was the most excited age for Japan's professional baseball. As you said, we may yearning for appearance of super stars.
I think it's good for study English to watch MLB games on TV. We can get something new and deference of terms between America and Japan as well as enjoy it.
I liked Paciorek/ ¥Ñ¥Á¥ç¥ì¥Ã¥¯. I liked his earnest character.
I lived in Rockville, MD for 3 years and half. Despite the fact I'm poor at English.... I try to write about memories of life in the U.S to practice English. Maybe you will find many mistakes on it, so please correct them!
