I have a stuff to be disappointed after came back to Japan.
It is that I can't collect my favorite things.
The things which I'm collecting are State Quarters and souvenir spoons.

Well, I'll show you my collection.

State Quarters
Quarter, it's namely US 25 cent coin. If you have it, look at the pattern of it.
You can find it was designed after each states of America.

Probably, It was easy to get them on the Internet, but this way was insipid for me.
I felt more excited to get them by hand as a change, and to confirm them which state's coin was a lot of fun. I could feel a kind of excitement like a gamble.
Sadly, I can no longer get them in this way in Japan.

I still want to collect them, so If you have the coins which I couldn't get,would you exchange them with mine? Please!!!

Souvenir spoon

The first spoon I obtained

Once I saw the collection of souvenir spoons my friend had, I was enthralled by them. I have been collecting it since that. Now, I have more than 50 spoons.

It makes me feel delight of collection as well as it brings me the memory of trip.
Presumably, I'm inclined to like a souvenir which has a local feature and something series.

I like shot glass, too!

こんにちは！いつも私のブログにお越し下さりありがとうございます。すっごく細かい事なんですが、"stuff"って不可算名詞なので、"a stuff"のように数えられないんです。不可算名詞はfishとかsandとかいろいろあって、私も随分アメリカ人の友達に直されました。"Whole foods"はたくさんの食品を扱っているからfoodsだけど、foodは通常は不可算名詞だとか。英語は難しいですね～。

日本語での会話のやりとりは新鮮？　でした。なにしろ楽だし..。　英語でも同じように会話のキャッチボールが難なくできるといいのですが...。

Hi Eko,
What are the 6 slots on the right side of the map? I can't see them very well in your photo, but it looks like maybe the first one is for the Bicentennial quarter, from 1976, and maybe the second is an ordinary quarter from before the state quarters program started?

Hi Michael,

The slots on the right side are not special, but I fit 2 Bicentennial quarters, as you said, and 1 usual quarter, which was issued in Denver, in the slot.

The quarters issued in Denver were rare for me and I was so glad when I got them.
Will States quarter program be finished in this year, right? Ahh... I wanted to collect all of the coins by hand...

Hi Eko,
Yeah, this year is officially the last year for the state quarters, but in 2009 they'll be coming out with a quarter for DC as well as one for each of the US territories. If I remember right, that means Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, and... hmm, I know I'm forgetting one. Ah, American Samoa!

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing the DC one will come out at the beginning of 2009, before the other ones. Maybe you and your husband should try to plan a visit back to the US sometime after New Years. ^^;

Hello Michael,

After I got the information from you I saw the US MINT'S home page. It actually be going to start new program as you said.
Ahhh...... It excited curiosity in my heart!!!
I wish I could get them!!

My driver's license will expire next year, so I want to renew it. If I'll be able to visit America again, I hope I get them, too.
