A baptism of fire
You know, standing your middle finger up means extremely rude and insult behavior. This is just my delusion, but I had considered that discreet adults, especially elderly people wouldn't do that. I actually had never received such an expression until then. When I was driving my car and tried to turn right on the red signal. In America, we can turn right even the signal indicates red light, if no sign to prohibit turning right.
Yes, when I was about to turn right on the red signal from Randolph Road to Rockville Pike toward north, the oncoming car just came to the same lane turning left.
I don't think that was
And then....
She gave me a greeting - standing her middle finger up.
Ohh..... it was the first time for me to have such a baptism.......
I'm so timid that I somehow felt down about that at that time.
But I don't care about it anymore!
Anyway that was my first experience to have a baptism by overseas style.

Niagara Falls
I've been very busy for many things I have to do in Tokyo. Walking around in the city of Tokyo in the day time is too severe. It's actually very hot around DC area, too, but the humidity which is characteristic in Japan attacks me without mercy. I thought I was going to pass out by the heat.
Anyway, I'm just surprised at becoming hotter and hotter every year. Is this the impact of global warming...?
Okay guys, let me post the picture from Canada. I'm sure it brings you coolness.

The cool air from Niagara Falls made me so fresh.

ahh... I was still 20's at that time...... How time flies!

Could you get coolness?
Guys, please take some water properly when you are sweating.
The digression,
I saw a movie named "Climber's High". This story is human drama at the news paper company. The airplane crash treated in the movie is based on the real accident in 1985. I still remember it, although I was a child.
The story refers - The worst airplane crash we've ever had in Japan, conflict with boss, jealous, a system of the organization, the rise of young staff, domestic problems,, illness and death of friend. The lead who is a reporter as middle standing struggles between the matters. It was very interesting to see.
Sorry for the additional digression but, the workplace where I used to work before appeared in the movie.
I pray for the souls of the victim.

Ride on Bus
"Ride on Bus" goes the rounds of Montgomery County, I like the bus number of "26" bound for Montgomery Mall (a name of the shopping mall). Ahh,,, I want to visit to Montgomery Mall.
While I was waiting for the bus, I met a variety of people.
Kind person, strange guy, funny person,,, sometimes I was asked for teaching Japanese, sometimes, thankfully,,,,, I was asked for a date.... by old person. I appreciate it, but no thanks....
Although I couldn't speak English well, I liked to talk to them.

East Jefferson Street towards Bethesda
One day, I met an old man during waiting for the bus. (he might come from India.) He was very friendly and talkative. We enjoyed talking each other.
After several minutes, the bus came.
But...........
The old man rode in the bus without paying.
Excuse me sir!! you haven't paid the fare yet! I thought.
But he took a seat quickly.
I was wondering if he just didn't notice or on purpose..., how I should say to him in English and politely in that case, ahhh,,,,, Should I give the old man good treatment?
I didn't know what to do. Anyway, I was mixed up about that.
The driver asked me if go together.
Foolishly, I said "Yes!" in spite of myself.
It goes without saying that I had to pay the fare for 2 people.
What was I doing..... I thought I should study English more harder.

Ride on Bus
Milk

I was really surprised at the size, when I saw it at the first time.
Look at the picture. It has 1 gal. (1 gallon= about 3.8l) Comparing to Japanese regular sized milk (1000 ml), it is almost 3 times.

In Japan, we can buy small sized milk at the grocery stores. The smaller milk I said, is 500 ml or so. As far as I know, no small sized milk in the US which is like a Japanese smaller one.
My friend told me that she was looking for small sized milk as same as Japanese one, when she had just moved to the US. It was hard to find it, but she finally found small sized.
She bought it and then drank it.
However,,,, it was not a milk, but a whipping cream. yeah, whipping cream also bigger than Japanese one.
She thought " How thick American milk is!!!"

Giant at Montrose road.
I had never known how painful thing until I was done it.
Yesterday..... I got my stomach checked up by endoscope. That's was painful....
I actually had been involved in a job to help patients who needed it at the hospital for a long time. I let them staying up with it saying, "Please don't move." or "Please relax!"
My result was nothing wrong, but.....
It was a painful for me.... and I understood how painful feeling patients have from bottom of my heart. My face with tears and runny nose must have been very ugly.
Anyway, please take care of your health!!
I appreciate for staff at the department of endoscopic.
