Strolling in Washington DC 1

Ohh,,, sorry, but I couldn't write anything for a while because of many stuff I had to do. Today, let's have a stroll in Washington DC. We'll go to there by Metro rail,first, get Red line bound for Glenmont station at Twinbrook station, and transfer to Blue or Orange line at Metro Center, afterwards, get off the train at Smithonian station or Federal Triangle station, and you'll get to around the Capitol Hill.

すみません。やる事がたくさんあってしばらく書けませんでした。ふう..。
さて、今日はワシントンDCを散策しましょう。メトロで行く予定ですが、まず、Twinbrook 駅でGlenmont行きのレッドラインに乗り、Metro Center でブルーかオレンジラインに乗り換える。その後スミソニアン駅かフェデラルトライアングル駅で降りればCapitoll Hillの辺りに着きます。
The metro stations around Washington DC are in the deep underground. The elevator is so long and steep. It looks like a shelter. I've heard that it was actually set out to be used as a shelter in case of emergency.DCエリアの地下鉄の駅は地中深くにある。エレベーターはとても長く、急だ。まるでシェルターの様。実際、有事の際にはシェルターとして使われるよう設計されたとか聞いた事がある。

Standing here, the national anthem of America is played in my mind automatically. I'm not an American, though I felt something like a dignified atmosphere. I can imagine that people would be enthused with inaugural address by President Obama here.
♪Oh, say can you see... フーンフフーン..フーンフーンフーン... (最初の部分しか分からない...。） ここに立っていると、アメリカの国歌が自動的に脳内再生される。私はアメリカ人ではないけれども、何だか、こう、威厳のある雰囲気みたいなものが感じ取れた。ここで、オバマ大統領による就任演説に人々は熱狂したことでしょう。

It is not too much to say that Washington D.C. is in the spotlight from all over the world. Today, I scanned a picture of D.C. , so let's see Washington D.C. from the sky. 
Oh sorry..... I was going to write about DC, but it's hard for me to do it now, because I've been sick since last week......... My voice is cracking and I've been suffering from a persistent dry cough.. Because I have no high fever and any inflammatory symptoms, so I don't think it's influenza. speaking of persistent dry cough, I wonder if I've caught walking pneumonia again...... It's one of the main symptom.
I'm terribly sorry, but let me have a rest until I get over it.
Everybody, don't catch a cold. Take care of yourself please please!!
Instead, let me put on a movie I made. It's a document of trip in Peru. I'm going to write about it in the future.

ワシントンDCの事を書こうと思ったけど、どーも先週から風邪が治まりませぬ。。。かすれ声としつこい空咳に悩まされています。高熱や炎症性症状がないのでインフルエンザでは無いと思うんだけど。。しつこい空咳といえば、またマイコプラズマ肺炎(アメリカではWalking pneumoniaと言うらしい。)にかかってしまったのかなぁ。検査した訳ではないので何ともいえないけど。。。 んなもんでちょっと休みまっす。
代わりにペルーを旅したときの動画を編集したのでUpします。クスコからチチカカ湖へ、バス９時間の旅。よかったら見てみてくださいね。

HO HO HO! Christmas is coming soon!
Although Washington DC area is very very cold in this season, I loved that exhilarant atmosphere through Thanks Giving to Christmas. People look so happy by holiday season and it makes me happy,too.
もうすぐクリスマスですね。
ワシントンDC地域のこの時期はものすごく寒いけれど、私はサンクスギビングからクリスマスにかけてのあのウキウキした雰囲気が好きだったなぁ。みんな楽しそうで、それを見ると私も幸せになる。
In Washington DC, Christmas tree is illuminated in front of Capitol Hill every year.
It was so beautiful.
We can enjoy 2 Christmas trees. The one is in front of Capitol Hill, and the other one is at National Mall. The above is at National Mall. This Christmas tree is designed by the first lady. I took this picture in 2003, so it was designed by Laura Bush.
Next year it will be designed by the new first lady Michelle Obama.
ワシントンDCでは２つのクリスマスツリーを楽しむ事ができるんですよ。
一方はキャピトルヒル前（国会議事堂）、もう一方はナショナルモールで。 この上の写真はナショナルモールのもので、毎年これはファーストレディによってデザインされるそうです。これは２００３年に撮ったものなので、ローラ・ブッシュ夫人によるものです。
来年はミシェル・オバマ夫人によるものですね。

Yes We Can!I saw the historic moment to step toward new future. Although I'm not an American, I was impressed very much by the birth of new President Obama and power of a sense of identification by American people.
Right now, our country is under extraordinary situation that our leader throws out jobs only 1 year. I think politicians are nit picking each other all the time to save their position. we are really bored with it. I would like to have that sense of identification like American had....
Today, I'll give you Grand Tour to inside Capitol Hill.
新たなる未来へ踏み出す歴史的瞬間を見た。 私はアメリカ人ではないけれども、新しい大統領の誕生とアメリカの人々の一体感のパワーに感銘した。今、我が国ではリーダーが１年あまりで仕事を投げ出してしまう異常事態だ。なんだか政治家って自分の立場を守る為にあら探しばっかりやっているように感じる。国民放置で。
何だかあのアメリカの一体感がいいなぁと感じる。
さて、今日は米国議会 Capitol Hill の内部へとご案内しましょう。

Cursed diamond named "Hope diamond"

When I was writing about a curse in the previous article, it reminded me that cursed diamond named "Hope Diamond" was there at Smithsonian Museum (National Museum of Natural History) in Washington DC. Contrary to the name, it is said that it brings misfortunes to the person who possesses it. History
Around 9th century
・It was found by farmer in India. But the farmer was killed by Persian army and the diamond was robbed. The beautiful diamond was presented to the king.
・The commander who presented it to the king was executed to account for his son's failure.
・The king was killed in the treason.
18th century
・A French treader- Jean-Baptiste Tavernier stole the diamond from the temple in India and sold Louis X鶤 it. After Louis X鶤's death, Louis X鶲 took over it.
・It is said that Tavernier was eaten by wolves in India.
・Louis X鶤 died from smallpox.
・Louis X鶲 and Marie Antoinette were executed in the French Revolution.
The diamond was passed from person to person asking for trouble.
20th century
・Henry Francis Hope purchased the diamond. Incidentally, the diamond was named after his name.
・Henry Hope had been through financially since he got it.
・The diamond was passed to his descendants during 4 successive reigns, but Henry Family went under.
・A newspaper baron-Edward Mclean obtained the diamond.
・His son was killed in traffic accident.
・His daughter died from over dose of sleeping pill.
・He divorced his wife. Henry died.
・His wife died from pneumonia.
Afterwards, Harry Winston purchased the diamond and he has donated it to Smithsonian. Today, it seems to calm its dark power down.
Oh, to tell the truth....., after I took the picture............

However, a succession of my failures in the driver's license may have related to the curse.....
前の記事で呪いについて書いている時、Washington DC にあるスミソニアン博物館（国立自然史博物館）に"ホープダイヤ"という名の呪われたダイヤモンドがあるのを思い出した。その名前とは裏腹に、持つ者に災いをもたらすと言われている。
９世紀あたり
インドの農夫がそれを発見するも、農夫はペルシア軍に殺されダイヤは強奪。軍の司令官が国王に献上する。
・司令官は息子の過失の責任をとらされ処刑。
・国王は謀反により殺害。
18世紀
・フランスの商人、ジャン・バプティスト・タヴェルニエがインドの寺院からそのダイヤを盗み出し、ルイ１４世に売却。その後ルイ１６世へと受け継がれる。
・タヴェルニエはインドで狼に襲われ食べられたと言われている。（これに関しては脚色されているとの説あり。）
・ルイ１４世は天然痘により死去
・ルイ１６世、マリーアントワネットはフランス革命で刑場の露と消えた。
その後方々で不幸をもたらしながら転々とする。
２０世紀
・ヘンリー・フランシス・ホープが購入。ちなみにこのダイヤは彼の名に因んでつけられた。
・ヘンリーがそのダイヤを手に入れてから破産へと真っ逆さま。
・その後４代に渡ってダイヤは受け継がれるもホープ家は落ちぶれていった。
・その後、新聞王のエドワード・マクリーンが購入。
・事故により長男が死亡、夫婦は離婚、娘は睡眠薬の過剰摂取で死亡。マクリーン夫人肺炎で死亡。
その後、ハリーウィンストンが購入しスミソニアンに寄贈し現在に至る。今では暗黒の力は静まっているようだ。
じ、実は、、、この写真を撮った後........
すいません！何も起こらなかったです。へへ。
しかしながら、免許取得における度重なる失敗は、この呪いが関わっていたのかもしれない....。
