The Curse of Colonel was finally lifted.

Colonel SandersAs you know, he is a founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
24 years ago, a professional baseball team named Hanshin Tigers got a victory in the league game. It was an interval of 21 years for them to get a victory. The fans were drunk with joy.

an American player named Randy Bass, made a spectacular play and he had an overwhelmed popularity among the fans. But his popularity made some frenzied fans do unbelievable action. When they saw the statue of Colonel Sanders,,,,
They tossed the statue of Colonel Sanders in the air in triumph and then,,,,,,,,
Colonel was thrown into the river. Unfortunately, Colonel resembled Randy Bass a bit.
Afterwards, the team was made to kept away from Lady luck and had to endure struggling to get out of the bottom of the league for a long time.
It is said that because of "The Curse of the Colonel."
Oh!! Colonel Sanders was salvaged from the bottom of the river after an interval of 24 years!!

２４年振りにカーネルおじさんが道頓堀から救出された。
以前の記事で述べたように、当時アメリカからの助っ人選手、ランディ・バースがファンの間で人気を博していた。１９８５年、２１年振りの優勝に酔った一部の熱狂的ファンにより、不運にも、バースに似ているからと言う理由でカーネルおじさんはわっしょいわっしょいと胴上げされた後、道頓堀へ投げられてしまった。以降、長い間タイガースが優勝から見放されたのは、カーネルサンダースの呪いだと言われている。
これにより呪いが解けたことを一ファンとして願うばかりです。
あ、ちょっと旅に出ます。それではまたの機会に。

Ohh,,,, Today is my birthday. I don't hope getting old anymore......By the way, I put here a description from one internet forum which makes me chuckle today, although it has nothing to connect with.

昔、ハーバルエッセンスのシャンプーを試したら私には合わなかったようでフケが大量に出た。
捨てるのも勿体ないので父に「使ってみたら？」と言うと
「いいの？男子禁制なのに、いいの？」とか聞いてきた。
その日の夜、父が風呂に入って暫くすると、いきなり風呂場から
「イエス、イエス、イエース！」と父の声が。
46歳(当時)にもなって何やってんだ父。

I tried Herbal Essences shampoo. But it seemed that this shampoo didn't suit me, only to get many dandruff. However I didn't want to waste it, so I asked my farther if he tried it,
"Why don't you try it?"
"Can I try it really? Is it only for women,right?" He asked me so.
That night, after a while he took a bath, I heard his voice from the bathroom,
"Yes! Yes! Yeee----s!!"
Dad, what the hell are you doing? Are you already 46 years old, right?

The father must have enjoyed this shampoo enough.

I felt somebody is there outside. I dared to open the curtain and I saw.....
A strange guy was just about to get over the balcony right in front of me.
外に人がいる気配を感じた。私は思い切ってカーテンを開けた。すると.....
私のすぐ目の前で、変な男がまさにベランダを乗り越えようとしていた。
Eeeeeeeeeek!!!!!! I screamed with womanly voice, I supposed to do. But I actually shouted, "Wooooo!!! What are you doing!" with quite manly voice. My voice was actually far from young lady's one.
I shut the window immediately. The strange guy ran away.
But!!!
He came back again!! Of course, I didn't intend to browbeat him, but my manly shouting seemed to stimulate him. He knocked at the closed window again and again!
knock knock knock knock!!!!
rap rap rap rap!!!!!
Eeeeeeeyow--------!!!!!!
He ran away after all, but if I found him at a later moment, I would.......
Conclusion
Nothing is scarer than a living man.
きゃあぁぁ〜〜!!!.... と、絹を裂くような女性らしい悲鳴を上げた、と思ったが、実際は「うおおぉぉ！！何だよ！」と男っぷりあふれる声で叫んでいた。私はすぐさま窓を閉めた。 男は逃げた,,かのように思えたが、
私の益荒男的な悲鳴が刺激したのか、なんと、男が戻って来て閉まっている窓を叩くんですよ！
コンコンコンコン!!!!! と何度も。
ぎゃあああああ！！！！
結局男は逃げたが、もし気づくのがあと少し遅かったら、私は......
結論
生きている人間ほど怖いものはなし。

Though I'm timid with ghost, I have an interest in it a bit, and then I always regret doing it after watching such kind of spooky program. I know I shouldn't do that but,....
Well, I'll tell you about the scariest experience I've ever had, this time.
Sorry, it's not in the US but in Japan.
夕べ、怖いテレビ見た事を後悔しています。めっさ怖かった....。 orz
怖がりのくせにちょっと興味がある。でもって、見た後にいっつも後悔する。やめときゃいいのに...。
さて、今回は私が今まで経験した中で最も怖かった経験についてお話します。
アメリカではなく日本での事です。
That was still in my early 20's. I used to live only by my self at the apartment. My room was on the 1st floor.
One summer night, it was hot and humid like now.
I came back to my room after work. My room was very hot and humid, so I opened the window to ventilate. The situation at that time was screen door with curtain, yeah, I couldn't see outside by the curtain, although the window was opened.
I suddenly felt that somebody is walking around my room outside, coming up and down..... I heard footsteps on the ground. To tell the truth, I had just felt the same strange atmosphere 2 days before as this situation, when I was talking with my friend by phone. I was so scared that I solicited her to keep talking for a while.
I dared to open the curtain........ and I saw........

私がまだ２０代前半の頃、アパートの１階で一人暮らしをしていました。
あれは、今みたいな蒸し暑い夏の夜のことでした。
仕事を終え、私は部屋に帰ってきた。 部屋はすごく蒸し暑かったので空気を入れ替える為に窓を開けた。その時の状態は、網戸＋カーテン。窓は開いているがカーテンにより外は見えない。
ふと、人の気配を感じた。そう、外で誰かが私の部屋の周りをうろうろ歩いている感じ。行ったり来たり。。。足音が聞こえる。 実を言うとその２日前、友達と電話中に同じ様な変な雰囲気を感じたばかりだった。めっさ怖かったので、そのまましばらく会話をし続けるよう友達に懇願した。
私は思い切ってカーテンを開けた。....... と、そこには.....
